School Reopening and Student Supports

25-Márta-21

As we prepare to break for the Easter holidays, we want to thank all of our students and staff for what we have collectively achieved this term. The return of both 5th and 6th Years (1/3 of the student population) has gone very well. 6th Years are now immersed in LC Assessment, Orals, Practicals, etc. We are very confident that they will do well in the exams. We are, also, preparing for an Online Graduation for them on Friday, May 14th.

Our 3rd Years will do JC assessments in the middle of May and they will have every reason to be proud of their results.

At present, it is expected that ALL students will return on Monday, April 12th. We are very much looking forward to their return.

We have reminded students (through their school TEAMS accounts) that, if and when they feel anxious, they should speak to their parents and guardians and seek their support. They can, also, contact teachers who are able and willing to support them. We will look after their wellbeing to the best of our ability.

The last term is short - 7 weeks. We look forward to meeting our students, helping them with their studies and enabling them to co-exist safely and with good humour with their peers.

These are strange times for us all and young people especially who have not had the time and fun with their peers that is normal and natural. However, it has been a time where young people have shown their patience and resilience. The privilege we have of working with young people has, also, enabled us to be proud of them and to valuable their presence and personality.

Hopefully, we can all stay safe over the next few weeks, rest and re-charge and get back to the joys of school life on Monday, April 12th next.

Many thanks to all! Stay safe, everyone!
