Firstly, Well done to all 6th Years. You have arrived at a point where you can put your school books away for now and appreciate all you have achieved.
The process from here is that teachers will work individually and collectively to create an anticipated grade for submission to the school Principal. That anticipated grade will be a reflection of your ability and commitment over a long period of time and will be a credible grade. Please trust your teachers in this matter. Since March 12th, a lot of work has been done behind the scenes to ensure that the data we hold and the efforts you have made before and since March 12th will enable teachers to make an honest and professional judgement. In the coming weeks, I will receive and review that data before it is submitted to the DES. At that point, the DES will review the school data submitted and make a balanced and trustworthy judgement that will be sent out in August (hopefully) as your Leaving Cert. statement of results. As always, there will be the opportunity to appeal that result. In time, the DES will, if required, facilitate a (re)sitting of the actual exam, should you wish to do so.
